Ik weet het, het is flauw om nu, na de examens nog af te komen met een akkefietje engels voor fanaten. Maar toch, stel dat iemand het leuk om weten vindt.
Ik ontdekte dat je de lettercombinatie 'ough' in de engelse woorden op vele manieren moet laten klinken.

op ough weet ik er geen meer direct (andere klanken) maar wat ik altijd heel debiel gevonden heb is 'brooch' [brauwch] ;) hier staan er nog meer: http://www.say-it-in-english.com/SpellHome.html

@do & tine: bedankt voor al die vreselijke dingen. Ik ga mij daar in sombere tijden eens mee bezatten, dwz: lezen én genoeg drinken!
En niet te vergeten de verschillen tussen amerikaans engels en brits engels, bijv...
color - colour (o=ou)
organize - organise (z=s)
highway - motorway
subway - underground
tomato - tomato [tehmeetoow - tehmahtoow]
etc.
